Custom Design

So you have an idea for a piece of jewelry.  In the digital age of 3D software and unlimited imagination your jewelry dream can come true.      Of course you may find the perfect design on a website or a jewelry store. But what if you want to add a few diamonds, or a swirl, or an initial that makes the piece more meaningful or purposeful?   What if you already have an old or worn out ring in which you want to reset the diamonds into a new design? Maybe you want to replicate a piece of jewelry for a friend.  Fortunately, it is now possible to transform any idea or design into a ring, pendant or earrings that can be worn everyday.

If you think about it, virtually everything we can see and touch was once a simple idea before it became an object we can see and touch.  Even if you are not an artist you still should be able to present your idea in a way to make your vision understood and come alive.  Since ancient times humans have scribbled their imagination in caves and the sand.  Today it is as simple as doodling on paper.

Since 1991, Gallery of Diamonds has transformed thousands of these doodles into lifetime jewelry.

How to Create Your Own Custom Jewelry Piece.

Many jewelry ideas are sparked from other ideas.  Some people may see a picture of a piece of jewelry but would prefer that it was bigger, more dainty, less swirly, etc.  Unfortunately, to keep production costs down, many jewelry companies make a select amount of jewelry designs and sell the same ones over and over.  In fact, it is not uncommon to see the exact piece of jewelry in different jewelry stores.  The color and decor of the jewelry stores may look differently but the actual pieces of jewelry may come from the same jewelry manufacturers.

If seven is your favorite number then you might want seven diamonds in a ring.  If blue is your favorite color you may want to add a few sapphires in your necklace. If you are celebrating a ten-year anniversary or the birth of a child you may want a piece of jewelry to symbolize these cherished milestones of life. With current technology you can even add a name or a geometric design that has special meaning to you or your loved one.

How Do I Get Started?

If you want to reset or redesign your old ring you can send it to us by registered mail.  You may doodle your thoughts or email us a picture of a jewelry piece that sparks your imagination.  It is helpful if we can see at least two views of the piece (like top view and side view.) If this is for a gift tell us the special occasion.

Ring Size

Although most rings can be sized, we like to get it right the first time. You may have to send us a ring that fits you perfectly or you can determine your finger size from a local fine jeweler.  An established jeweler will cheerfully do this for you.

Necklace Length

Chain lengths usually come in increments of two inches. The most popular lengths are 16, 18, 18, 20 and 24 inches. Remember that for every two inches of chain length will add one inch of length from your neckline.

You can circle parts of your photo to identify areas that you want to modify.  We love helping our customers and are always here to talk to you in person or on the phone.

Once we determine what you desire we tell you the cost to make it and the estimated time of completion. The current completion date is three weeks.  We like to communicate with you often along the journey of your one-of-kind jewelry creation to make sure the finished result is beyond your expectations.  Depending on how you would like to communicate with us well will keep you informed along the way with illustrations or photos.

Before we begin work or alter your jewelry, we make sure you approve and that we have a clear understanding of the finished result.
